Looks to me like early plastic not ivory.

hi,ok,i heated up a pin and it did not go threw?it stunk like egg can someone help me out as i might be doing it wrong?i will show a picture of the pin spot as it does not hert anything as it will be coverd up..thanks ..i did a search and nothing came up for ivory pin test? maybe i spelled something /or did something wrong...thanks guys .. chris you out there?

First off the grip is not ivory, A hot pin will not burn a hole in ivory and ivory will smell like burnt hair. You can see the seam in the grip also.

well the neadle did nothing to it as it barely made a mark and stunk..what seam ?i have one ivory already and this looks very close to it..i go to astate auction see and find everything..
