Troddel Question

Guys,

I'm not very experienced on edged weapons, I have a Heer Officers Lionhead sword but it has a Police Troddel that looks like it's been there forever. Would this have been the practice in the day or did you have to have a Police Officers Degan?

Dolph,

Sometimes we see an SS knot on a Polizei bayonet or sword which is thought to indicate dual membership in both organizations. I presume it's possible a policeman could have been in the Army. Not sure if there are regulations that permit this or it was just a practice of the time.

I had a dove head officer sword before with the police sword knot. It looked like it was there for a long time. I will try to find a pics of it.
