Unknown Bayonet Frog, came with LW belt rig

No idea what this one is. never seen a double strap frog for a ww2 mauser bayo. It did come on a LW belt rig, but there was other stuff in the lot and the vet's granddaughter had no idea what came with what. I included the pic of the LW rig at the end just for basic size comparison.

Please excuse the "barn fresh" look. I'll be re hydrating and restoring the leather ASAP.

    Any thoughts?

it is modified m24 kingdom of Yugoslavia bayonet frog. Germans used them after they captured it from Yugoslavia. They added the top loop. I have one like that too.

        Thank you mate!

Darn, I was hoping for a rare German Mauser bayo frog lol. Yugoslavia militaria is not my area of collecting, until this piece at least!

Any idea as to why the extra strap was added? I'd love to see a picture of it worn too, if you happen to have one.

I do not have idea why they added the strap, being that they used Yugo bayonets with them. They probably thought that we cannot make anything good so they had to correct it.
And I do not have a pic of the bayonet being worn by the German.

hey now, us Slavs make QUALITY armaments, the Krauts just can't ever admit that!

The frog actually fits the Czech bayo PERFECTLY and the top strap works with it as it is too top-heavy for a k98 frog. using captured Czech bayos in Yugo frogs? I wouldn't put anything past the Germans!

Where are you from? I was just kidding about the frog being broken. I am Serbian, and that frog was made in Kragujevac, Serbia.

I'm Ukrainian, Czech and German (Bavaria/Wurttemburg), and was born in the former Soviet Union.

And yeah, I know you're joking, so was I!

Serbia is a GORGEOUS country, the jewel of the Balkans, as far as I am concerned.
