Sa / nskk 1940 dagger opinions please

    Dear Members,

I bought a collection from the grandaughter of a WW11 veteran.

    Here is a 1940 SA/ NSKK dagger.

Can you have a 1940 maker mark with a 1940 RZM stamp with a black scabbard ?

I thought that NSKK daggers were earlier than 1940, what do you think ?

    Opinions please , Regards Stephen.

A correct NSKK dagger RZM transitional with black hanger.
A bit of honest wear but 100% original.

                    Thanks for the feedback !

                    Dear Mac 66, r.r, rajko 84, wags,

Thank you so much for the heads up !

I just have one question , did the NSK dagger continue throughout the war until 1945 or did they stop making an NSK dagger with a black sheath after a certain date ?

Thanks again for the comments, Stephen.

Sometime probably fairly early in 1942 all series dagger/dress item production terminated. Which was immediately preceded by the quality which had already declined, falling off even more sharply. FP
