Just got a Catalog from Rock Island Auctions...Amongst the Crap they are pushing is this piece..I doubt this piece 100% and even with the Letter from Johnson...It gives a Good look what was happening Just Pre Internet,now people can see what junk was being pushed as real.Dagger and Hanger are legeit...IMHO The Engraving is Bogus,what better way to sell an otheriwise Blah Dagger.

I saw this piece in TJ's more recent series a year or so back & had doubts on the engraving purely due to the shape of the runes. They look nothing like runes that I've seen on period items do IMHO. Odd too how the letter of authenticity contains a sales pitch.

Long time since I have talked with you...Yeah I agree its not what you'd expect from SS espicially those runes...People seem to forget they actually mean something in the Runic world...You alter the angles and then you loose the meaning.Did you happen to see the 1 of a kind Himmler Letter opener?...Pure junk and probably Indian Damascus,
