USMC Sword.. OLD??

Hi Folks,

Just picked up a few blades and in there was this USMC sword. Kinda crusty on the outside but the blade is nice.

Any idea of age?

Ive owned a few of these but have never noticed a USMC SERIAL NUMBER??

Have you all seen that before??

It is hard to see from the pics if it is, but if it has a small hair size lines in it and the color almost looks like dirty white with the yellow tint on it. And it will not feel like a plastic.

H&H maker.....at best 1930s, more probably late 40s/early 50s. Not sure when
H&H started but after WW1 I believe.....

The USMC serial number indicates it's a "Quatermaster issue" rather than privately owned (issued for use by officers who don't own thier own sword)...and would be returned to the "Armourer" when the "ceremony" was complete.

I'll see if I can find H&H's start date...
