Minty long dress bayonette.. Imperial???

I wanted to touch base with you all and find out more about this bayonette.

It looks IN MINT condtion... hence Im a bit hesitant. The leather everything.

I noticed the grip has no place to put on a rifle?

This looks imperial to me?

What do you all think?

That looks good to me.

I would say it is an Imperial German era private purchase sidearm based on the S 1871 bayonet.

Known in German as an Extra-Seitengewehr.

The inscription is found on many swords and bayonets - "In memory of my service time" - purchased to commemorate someones military service.

Never seen fakes or repros of this model.
