It took me a while to find this maker. The dedication on the crossguard made it kind of special and the blade is pretty darn nice also.

That one is a beauty, early 1st style WKC crossguard and the bonus of a very detailed crossguard dedication. That one would grace any advanced army dagger collection. Very nice .

From what I can tell, the dedication reads like this:
Vd (vielen dank? no military abbreviation that I know of) unteroffizier(s) the (of the?) 12 Company reservists battalion February 2-21-37
I have to use some imagination here so it makes some sense. I'm using 2 books I have on the subject of German military terms and abbreviations.
Anybody have any other ideas?

the translation is as follows:

V.d. = Von den (from the)
Uffz. d. = Unteroffizieren der (corporal's of the)
12. Kp = 12. Kompanie (12. company)
Ldw Batl. = "???" Battalion

I'm not sure regarding the full word of "Ldw" unfortunately.
