    WKC Heer Officer Dagger

Thanks guys, for the input on the portepee, hope I tied it correctly. This is my first dagger, what are your opinons? Are those the cross graining I should be looking out for in the last picture?

Hi Wunhur, your dagger looks a very nice clean example. You have tied the knot correctly (It took me 2 hours to do my first Navy knot )

The cross graining is fine. Some daggers feature this more than others; it was not a design feature but just the marks from the grinding wheel when the blade was made. Some makers polished this out completely.

          Cheers, Ade.

That is a nice dagger and the knot is almost tied coprrectly...the knot itself should come through under the cord that runs horizontally across the front.

If you will slide the loop that's around the base of the pommel down the grip, it should give you enough cord to run the knot through. If not, carefully slip the cord off the left crossguard, pass the knot through and then slip it back onto the crossguard. Slide the loop back up to the pommel and carefully tighten the whole thing up.

              Hope that makes sense!

              Best,
