The knife is original, the grips are customized and the rivets raised or replaced

The grips are IMO replaced. Otherwise original.

i used to own 2 examples of this type and this one has replaced grips but replaced when is the question ? looks pretty good to me though

I've seen these notches before on fighting knives. Putting them in was likely done while waiting. Much of a soliders time is spent just putting in time. 95% boredom and 5% sheer terror.
