How are these emblems normally attached? If glued, it still looks a bit 'amateurish', agree with you.

Excelsior, Not necessarily in the order of numbers seen, they have been attached as follows:

    * Glued of course, sometimes with traces at the edges, sometimes not.

    * Pinned, probably earlier, for an HJ knife type emblem with a four sided single right angle hole in the scabbard body (from a sheet metal punch). And usually signs of rivet removal, and replacement with a new one. Some have better paint touch up jobs, and can be harder to detect.

    * Pinned, two round holes from a common twist drill. (And the rivet removal/replacement/touchup as above.)

    * Pinned, using a twist drill, mouthpiece left alone leaving the internal parts inside. With the emblem removed usually you can see where the drill damaged the liner.

    * And my “favorite” with only a single example seen so far. Like the one just above, but then the faker broke off one of the pins from the hat type emblem.
What to do???? Obviously a quick thinking individual, he then used next to one of holes, an inverted (supposedly) “RZM” stamp on the scabbard to make it “authentic” - for all to see. There was one slight problem with that however. When he used the stamp, it broke off a big chunk of paint on the scabbard body . There is more, but you get the picture.

My Best Regards to All, FP
