    bayonet ID needed

Can anyone tell me what type of bayonet this is.Ofcourse it`s unmarked as my luck always goes, though it is #`d on the end(3073),the scabbard has a dent on each side, and the hanger is broken, and is not #`d or anything.Blades in great shape and looks to have never been messed with.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

This is very much like the Czech bayonet for my VZ. 24, with one very significant difference: the blade is UPSIDE DOWN compared to the Czech. ( Theirs had the edge ON THE TOP! ) Also, the frog stud's round instead of flat. Otherwise, it's a ringer. Probably made in then-Czechoslovakia for one of the Balkan countries they armed; Romania, maybe? ( It's definitely NOT Polish. )

      bayonet

IMHO your bayonet is a Belgian M1924 made for export. These bayonets were sold to several different countries for a number of years and come in both short and long blade versions. The Yugoslavs made a bayonet very similar to it. However, the Yugoslav bayonets have their markings on them.

John is right on this, the problem is damaged frog stud on bard, missing screw. M24/30 long piece.

This site has a list of bayonet books you might consider sometime in the future. Not that you would buy from this site, but at least you have the titles, and can shop around. Someone may have the book you want here if you ask by title(if you ever want one), as books are always good to have, but online there is also lot's to be found with a little searching.
