The perfect complement to a 1937-dated Kar.98k rifle...

...is my matching 1937-dated S/175 bayonet and scabbard.

And, what bayonet and scabbard are complete without a nice leather frog from which to suspend them -

As an added bonus, this scabbard is unit marked -

If any fellow board members can provide insight/provenance regarding the unit markings it would be much appreciated.

Nice early set!...Unit marked to a pionier regiment 7 or 70? 3rd company. The roman numeral I shows it was a grade 1 at the time of issue to that unit. If you can read the regiment number I can give more details. More uncommon to see army unit marked frogs, most seen are luftwaffe.

      rick,

It reads "3./Pi.7 I". Yes, anything you can tell me about this frog's markings is much appreciated.
