    Kavallerie sword with etchings

    Hi Guys.
What can you tell me about this army sword.
It is made by Eickhorn, and is from the 13.th Kav. Regt. Lüneburg.
Has it been used in service or only as "zu Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit"?
    Regards
    Stengaard

A very nice saber . As you suspect it's a private purchase Mannschafts-Säbel for off duty wear, with the desirable extra cost etching. Most likely purchased to commemorate the owner's time in the army like many of the "For my service ....." blades. The service cavalry saber is much larger, and more robust, using a slightly reworked Imperial era Prussian (n/A) M 1856 mounted artillery saber. FP

        Thanks for the info Frogprince.
Any idea about the value of a sword like this ?
I have never seen one like this from the Third Reich.
        Best regards
