Long DLV dirk

Hi everyone,

Someone interested in a very rare bird? Found this fascinating example on my mate's website yesterday. The DLV Leader pattern dirk or "55" er. This dagger measures 55 cm. Nice for everyone who has the money. But hey: loking at the pictures is for free.

Very nice indeed. You don't see them offered for sale very often especially in such good condition. This dagger is missing in most of "Luft" daggers collections, including mine.

At the moment we have some educational discussion on the WWMF. According to well known reseacher and writer, Wilhelm Saris, this dagger was created for pilots of motorized airplanes in the DLV. He has lots of period information and dates that can testivy his theory.
The offical theory at the moment is that this dagger was the early Officer version for the DLV.
