I do not like the eagle stamp or the numbers, but I could be wrong.

It appears to have genuine age to it and does not look to have been cleaned. The black within the maker stamping mark and the numbers is in equal measure therefore I am of the opinion that they are of the same period. Not a naval dagger collector but just based on observation I might venture that the numbers and stamping could be armoury property numbers. When and by whom the pommel was added is another matter. That early daggers were upgraded to TR from earlier period pieces is fact. I should look for other imperial pieces by this maker and make some comparisons if you cannot get any knowledgeable responses here or try another forum for a definitive answer.

It does look like an Imperal upgrade, but I'd have no idea what the numbers are or whether they're original.

All the ones I can find in the Wittmann book, does not have that kind of eagle stamp, and I think it was a 1929 1 model at one time. This is the pictures from his book of the example.
