2nd modle luft handle original?

Picked this up this weekend at the flea market thought the handle wrap was strange, has anybody seen a handle wrap like this thats war time?

I agree, it looks original except for the wire for sure. The grip may ot be original also. Hard to tell from the pics.

I had an AES with (and I saw a couple or more here and there) a grip with the same single thread, not iron but tin or something like 'white metal'.

Alcoso did inded use a single strand aluminum wire in late production.
I think this one is fine.
