          Very unusual looking maker mark, can't say I've seen it before. What does it say exactly, "Perlman"? I do know Louis Perlmann, Solingen, made blades under the trade name "Louper" but those blades are usually seen with a flame logo as well.

          Can we see some better pictures of the etching? It looks like a reproduction Holler etch.

            Billy G, thanks, the maker is Perlmax, Solingen. Did not get pictures of the etching worthy of posting. There is variation in the etching oakleaf and acorn style pattern from the Paul Weyersberg pictured in Wayne Techet's book. But you may be right.

              Hi David,

              Never saw a Perlmax blade before, nice. As far as the etch goes, if you've got Wayne's book then you know what I mean about the Holler type fakes.
