    Early SA by Wolfertz

    Good evening gents,

I’m posting this nice early Wolfertz SA for review prior to moving it to the E-stand. My main area of collecting is Wehrmacht uniforms and headgear and because I don’t have a high degree of expertise in civil/political daggers I wanted to get some opinions. Skip has already seen some of these, and the other pics I have and said it looks fine and although I know his opinion is gold, I’d like to see if some of you other guys with daggers by Wolfertz would be willing to weigh in?

I was wondering about the SA Gruppe mark. It looks like a “P” (Pommern) but the stem is so weakly struck it is indiscernible. I don’t believe there was a “D” was there??

No big story associated with this; I was contacted by a family in Arizona that had it and was fishing for offers and I made the one they liked. Even though it’s a really scarce maker it’s not in my lane so it will have to go. The nice thing is is that it doesn’t look like this one has been bathed in Simi-chrome or anything else.

Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards and thanks in advance!!

    Bob

I'm not sure what that little bit of tracking is near the upper fitting of the scabbard. It looks like it was dragged or rubbed against something and may have caused the little dent at the same time???

I like it - nice dagger and as you said a not so common maker.

Looks just great. Pitty from the reverse scabbard.

                          Regards, Wim

Thanks guys. I have to say if you two wouldn't have weighed in I would have started to think this was a fake. I guess I won't bother putting it on the E-stand as there appears to be little interest or appreciation of it.

                            Thanks again

                            Bob
