    Kriegsmarine dagger

    Hi,

    for a friend I'm doing some research on this Kriegsmarine dagger.
    Sorry for the bad picture.

    I would like 2 things;
    Is this dagger original?
    Who made this dagger?

    Thanks & regards

    Its a very nice original dagger made by Horster. The hangers are in great condition, as is the correctly tied portepee. A great complete rig.

        I'm not happy with the trademark, should be enclosed in a double oval

          It appears to be an original Horster dagger, but the style they made post-war. As Jonathan pointed out, should have the oval trademark, typically stamped, but their late period daggers had etched oval maker marks. The scabbard bands also appear to be pressed rather than attached, also these post-war models had white felt buffers and sailing ship etch.

          Sorry, but I don't think this is a period dagger...

              So, post war Hörster with replaced pommel I've checked with Fisher now, and there is no logo without double oval

                a well known post war dagger with that horster logo. I remember a thread on gdc about an identical faked dagger with same logo.
