Engraved fire police dress bayonet

Hi all,

I would be interested in your opinion about the following piece. A friend of me got it directly from the family ages ago. He now wants to sell it and asked me for some help.
At first I would like to ask if you agree that the engraving is fine. Further I would need a rough value for a piece like that.
The color on the scabbard is completly stripped and it has some peppling to the zinc grip. However, the blad is near mint.
Any input is most welcome.
