Teno hewer grips fake!!!!

Hi all, im a novice when it comes to third reich daggers so when i was offered a teno hewer i thought id check here for some help. when checking some threads i noticed that everyone was asking if the grips had the eickhorn squirel on the inside a sure way of telling an original example. I thought for refrence id post some pictures of the dagger i went to see which turns out to be a repro with the eickhorn mark to the grips.

Thanks for posting. Not a bad copy I guess, is the blade steel (magnetic)?

I agree, not a bad copy & something that would fool a decent number of people. I hate seeing things like this.

Red , blade is not magnetic....
Billy G , the old fella who i bought this off was ripped, he bought it a number of years ago from a big dagger dealer here in the UK who recently died , Reilly?? He bought a few from this dealer over the years and was stung on more than one occasion. This one and the rad hewer were made by the same firm.

This hewer looks nice indeed, very good quality copy, but still closer examination tells the truth. The best way to avoid getting burned is to keep best, detailed pictures of originals in your database or "simply" to have an original hewer in collection to compare with.

I have no Enlisted Teno Myself. It's a pretty nice copy. At first sight the lack of detail on the cogwheel and the poor casting of the crossguard indicate a few red flags to me.

the details are the materials and if its a quality casting. If you would set a original next to a repo you would notice many red flags.

I have looked at this dagger several times and just can't see how it is called a reproduction. I believe it is a buffed and cleaned hilt that had flaking to the original silver finish and was buffed to remove the finish leaving the natural metal base. The detail is too good to be a fake as I have encountered over the years.
The TM and TeNo proof looks good, but the blade finish seems to have been cleaned or buffed also.
I don't see the serial number and would like to see it to determine if it is correct.
I would love to hear what makes you sure this is a reproduction.

Ron, I think the kiss of death is that the blade is not magnetic. The copies I've seen of these have a cast alloy blade.

I'm with Ron, I'd love to see the serial number on the scabbard and blade!! Alex
