    SS dagger number id -question

Ross Kelbaugh just found info and picture of one of my SN'd SS daggers. It is so exciting to see a face and read about the actual owner of an artifact I can hold in hand. If you haven't used him, I recommend him He does a great job. Now, I have a question some of you may be able to help with. How would I go about to see if the original owner is still living or if not when he died. Is there any web sites that one can go on to search for things like that. I have his birth date, name, place of birth, etc., but don't know where to go or if it is even possible. Any suggestions or something you have tried would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dave, start with the online German phone book. Look up his last name and then look for the town he was born in. This worked for me once. Unfortunately I do not remember the link for this...Jeff

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I will do some searching and give that a try for starters.

Sometimes yes, but my dad is a year older and he is still around and doing well. I'm just curious . I can't see any harm in seeing if he is still around and do it discreetly. I am a history teacher and what a neat project to relate to my students to get them interested in searching out history.
