Hello folks. Stumbled across this pig-sticker in a local antique shop yesterday. In over 35 years collecting militaria, I can honestly say that I've never before run across a 98/05 w/ this maker mark-"CITO". A quick net search turned up not much about it except that it was apparently made by Pack in Cologne and is apparently an R3 (very rare) on the proverbial rarity scale. Would this maker bring any particular premium? It's in very nice condition, shows some light period sharpening, but otherwise is in very nice overall shape w/ an untouched patina. There are NO spine markings, just "CITO" on the ricasso and two small crown cyphers to the reverse pommel. Appreciate your input! Thanks.

Nice bayonet.
CITO is certainly one of the rarer makers of the S98/05. None of them appear to be dated according to Carter in his book on the subject.
CITO was a registered trademark of Ernst Packe Sohn of Solingen.
There was also CITO-COLN - possibly a subsidiary manufacturing plant.
Premium - yes for the serious collector, it is worth more than a "normal" maker.
