    Need help on Army Officers Dagger

    got this dagger a few days ago, but I'm not sure about it.

                      The crossguard is a generic type. IMO is an original dagger

                      So, It would be interesting to see a photo of the manufacturer's mark on the back of the blade

                        Looks OK to me. As stated the x guard is one of the `generic` types. The pommel is the type A. Scabbard is possibly an Eickhorn product. Eickhorn did also use the A pommel. Not to say it is Eickhorn because other manufactureres not producing their own parts used parts supplied by the larger producers. One of the so called non conforming examples. Probably a celluloid over plaster grip by the appearance.

                          From what I see it is good unmarked army dagger. To be 100% sure, I'd like to see the picture of the tang to see if the blade itself is original.

                            Looks generic all around blade looks good but as mentioned a shot of the blade tang would be helpful. If I remember correctly the scabbard bands remind me of Puma. The pommel is the type seen on Eickhorn, Puma and Spitzer i think there are more that used this too, i'll bet it has the 12 oak leaves.
