    My those photos are super-sized.

The bayonet Troddel does not belong with the sword. SS-Polizei Offizier Degen were affixed with the small Polizei sword knot. The Polizei Hoheitszeichen does appear to be refitted to the sword grip. Hard to tell really from photos. The sword hanger is a generic model and supposedly would have been used by a Gendarmerie offizier.

The upper scabbard fitting is not regulation police.

It's from a 'Dachau' SS sword.

      Parts assembly, I agree.

I agree that the sword is a parts sword and was not assembled in this manner during the time of use. This is a common problem with this type of SS or Pol Degen.

Thanks for the info so far.
So it might be a parts sword but is it still original ??

I don't think there's any question that it is a parts sword. It does appear to be made from period parts, but to call it "original" is, IMO, a bit of a stretch.

No, it is not original to time of use.

The parts would be considered genuine, however they were hodge-podge assembled to create (repair) this degen, post-war. Stay away from it unless it's drit cheap. Like was mentioned, a conglomoration of an SS degen throat, and misc other police degen parts put together to create this degen. It wasn't done at the factory, and it wasn't done by the liberating GI during his tour in ocuppied Europe.
