hunting dagger miniature question. thank you

I just got this today, so I was wondering if I can have any info about this. who made it, what time period (I hope II W.W)... etc.

I've seen the miniatures before, but they are absolutely miniatures of the full sized ones, and they fitted into a pocket in-front of the "normal sized" one. I believe this would be the skinning knife. However, the one shown looks to be aluminium and thats new to me, also the workmanship seems shody and cheap.

As to whether it's TR period? It is impossible to say for sure, as they were manufactured in the early 30's and never changed the design, bar one .

I would say that it was a post war item, but I could be wrong

Looking at the quality I would have to agree that it's probably post war as well. The handle looks more like pot metal than aluminum to me. Many of these hunting association daggers were some of the finest looking daggers produced during the period. All that I've seen have been top quality with much attention to detail.

Given the blade grind, I would say this is a letter opener. Seems to be a relatively cheap gift item, and in my opinion could have been made any time before or after 1945.
