It's not common but I've seen where some etching seemed a bit off, something
got on the templete during the process or a dedication or Motto was not centered. Sometimes the acid will do a funny number on a letter. Depends on what is in the composition of the steel, the placement of the template and the acid strenth and time used.
    These were all hand done.

The worst examples were discarded and on rare occassion a retuning vet would come up with some strange looking rejects he picked up in a factory. But I haven't seen one of those in many years.

One's with a small flaw...well ...contrary to popular belief, that went assempled onto the dagger and sent out.

    Sorry Carlos...no photos.

      Carlos.
      They are rare to find.
I have also a Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn Sykes dagger with only The WS logo at one side of the blade. The "FS Fighting knife " is forgotten by the worker at the WS factory. Its a ONE OF A KIND FS.

That dagger is straight from the Woodwork

If you look into this tread...i have a SA with some Non normal etch ...
