    sa dagger and black scabbard-both unit marked

    up for discussion. meaning behind the engraved matching unit number would be welcome, as would overall assesment of piece. is this perhaps motorised SA?

                  That is a brigade and unit marked fitting. I have often seen them stamped but only rarely engraved. There was a nice article on them by Gustavo over on another forum site a couple of years ago.
                  Here is one I have that is stamped.

                          Pure guestimate value....

                          This would be a best guess as the tip has been ground down a little on the blade and I can't clearly see the blade condition but somewhere between $600 and $800 depending on the buyer. Main value is in that engraving in my opinion, but the guy looking for these markings would want it and would buy it for a good price. If you can contact Gustavo who used to post over at the Dave Hohaus (sp) forum...he could definitely put you a dead on value and opinion on it.

                            Honest early NSKK. Not a killer condition, but the unit markings give the dagger some extra charm. Style of these numerals is one of the best I've ever seen

                              Looks like original etching of the numbers as stated above, very nice. What this dagger lacks in condition it makes up for in character. A shame about the blade tip though.
