    Anodized scabbard on SS Dagger

A few years back I bought an RZM Pack and Sons dagger at an antique shop for $300.00. Nothing rare. A fairly worn and repaired hardwood handle and decent blade. The scabbard however, is not painted, but appears to be anodized. However, the color of the scabbard has a more purplish tint to it than black. I've looked at some of threads to see if this is common but most of the scabbard pics don't bring out the true colors. What should an anodized SS scabbard look like? Thank you.

    SS dagger scabbard

    Hi Dan,

I have attached pictures of an anodised black scabbard. They have a 'duller' finish than the painted variety and usually have solid nickel silver fittings as opposed plated.
You would be best to post pictures of your dagger so we can have a look.
    Best wishes,
    Ian

Thanks for your reply. After seeing your pic, I now think that the scabbard may be a dark brown SA. I compared it to a SA that I have and the scabbards are close. Here are some pics anyway for educational purposes.
