Dagger etched mottos

Hi,

I'm looking for information on how the value and rareness of a dagger is affected by wheather or not the motto is painted red or black. Specifically on SA daggers. Most seem to to have no paint on the mottos. A search on the internet has turned up nothing. Also, how is the eagle insignia affected if it is painted? Thanks in advance.

Very few manufacturers actually put paint in their SA dagger motto. None that I know of ever used red. It was most likely done post war and will be a big detrement to the value of the dagger.

Definitely true, a BIG detriment to the value of any SA.
