                  Hi Martin,
it is a nice "Seitengewehr 98 neuer Art mit Säge", the marks tell it is from 1904.

Is it a rare one ?
No idea of the value of a nice one like this with hanger and Troddel ?
                    Cheers,
                    Martin.

2nd pattern S98 with sawback, made for Prussia in 1904. Definitely not common, but can't say what the value is.

                        Martin

                        Good looking bayonet.

I have a price guide from 2006 which describes this particular bayonet as "very scarce" - the average price realised from Internet auctions was $550.

                        Hope this helps a little.

                        Regards

                        Richie

                              Sawback

Thats one nice bayonet, its about the only sawback type I dont have. Ive seen them fetch $700 on Australian ebay. Thats in Aussie dollars I havent seen many on dealer sites but Id pay $400US in a heartbeat.
                              cheers Robert
