It looks like an honest, aluminum 1st model Luftwaffe dagger by SMF. The blade appears to be Wafamt. marked above the SMF MM.
Looks to be in nice codition..a little sundisc gilting woul be additionally nice. The blue Morroccan grip and scabbard look tip top, and th aluminum grip wire appear also to be spot on. Not problems with this on (as faf as I can see)
I agree with Tom, legit looking later production 1st model Luft in aluminum. While not as desirable as the earlier nickel variety, the scabbard leather & blade look nicely conditioned so it's still a sought after piece. A shame the pommel swazs don't have the gilting.
I know that SMF second models are known to hold the gilting better than other makers. Is the same true for 1st model Lufts, in aluminum or silver?
That appears to be a nice clean dagger there.

An original aluminium dagger. It's in good condition, however keep in mind that only stone mint aluminiums have real value. Most collectors prefer the nice patinated early nikkel silver examples. The only real attraction from a late aluminium one is its condition.
