KM Dagger Question

I have nice Eickhorn KM Dagger and its gold portepee buts its seperate taken off by its previous owner to display. I would like to attach portepee back on however even with good pictures I am unable to get complicated knot. The portepee isn't damaged but youcan feel little rough wire where once was tied, so don't want to figure out trying incase I might damage portepee.

Can anyone help me resurrect this dagger putting his old friend back whereshould be??
