Help/opinions on my two Bayo's Please!

    Hi Guys and Gals,

I am looking at selling these two bayo's from my collection, I have no idea about the 1st one, the k98 bayo I have some info about. I will let the pictures do the talking as edged weapons are not my forte!!

Any help on prices would be great.

    Thank you.

K98 It has matching numbers, and the frog is unit marked.

                      Debra

i = the manufacturers code for Elite Diamant.

This code was only used in 1941 - after that I don't think they made anymore bayonets.

5065b is the individual serial number of the bayonet - it (and the manufacturers mark/date) should be the same on the scabbard.

The marking on the frog is from the Reichswehr - Weimar Republic.

The / is the key thing for this period - although there are a few Imperial period unit marks which use it.

It represents the 1st Company of the 17th Infantry (Jager) Regiment.

The other bayonet is Spanish - I can see FN Toledo on the blade. Probably for a Mauser.

Value - not sure on the Spanish one - not a great deal I guess.

The German one will depend on the scabbard matching - if so, in excess of £100, possibly more.

                      Hope this helps a little.

                      Regards

                      Richie
