I don't like that makers mark,it looks like the one seen on repro 'Holler' aluminium 1st lufts,a closeup of the scabbard and screws would help, also the scabbard mouth is different in shape compared to the first Lufts I have and the bottom fitting seems to be pointed instead of round.

Thank you for your comments Ian. Couple more pictures attached showing some screws and the bottom of the scabbard. I was unsure about this dagger and the etching of the manufacturer logo, plus a couple of other things, but I need to be certain before I pass this up. Regards, Clive.

It's a Spanish copy IMO. The quality is OK for a repro I suppose, but not close to an original. The red flags on these is usually the poor detail to the maker mark, the chain links aren't soldered closed, and the casting detail of the sunwheels is poor. The hilt is normally aluminum on these, and the period aluminum models have exceptional detail.

I agree with all of Red and Ians comments. There are many things wrong with this dagger.

Imo is a fake, the marker mark is very ugly and bad made.

Many thanks for all the comments and observations. Hopefully this thread will be of use to show what a copy-fake looks like. Regards, Clive.

                              Very sloppy made fake.
