To which (sword,bayonet,dagger) this goes to? And what is the proper way to tie it to the handle and if somebody has a picture I would like to see the picture of that if possible.

The knot is for Feuerwehr service, either bayonet or sword depending on the size of the bulb. The gold/brown cords on your bulb were originally silver but have toned nicely over the years. I'm looking for a good picture to show you the way to tie such a knot, there were several accepted methods with one for police service & the other for military service, presumably used by vets.Comment

Yes,that's a very nive Feuerwehr knot,and in great condition.I am sure Billy has a nice photo of the way to tie the knot.It shouldbe tied in the Police manner,but it was done in the Military manner also,and even then it depends on the lenght of the strap.Comment
