K98 bayonet.. no marking

I have had this one for a long time now. but why are there no markings on the blade??.

This looks like a German made contract bayonet - for Portugal possibly.

They generally do not have a manufacturers mark although as on yours there are miltary stamps to show it has been through the same inspection process as German issued bayonets.

Richie is right, its a Portugal Mo937 contract, probably WaA253 proofed on pommel.
