Help with early SA dagger by Gottfried Muller

    Greetings all

I picked up this SA dagger the other day, along with a Luftwaffe and Army officers daggers.

The SA dagger appears early and has a type of blued finish to the main body of the scabbard with what appears to be nickle plated parts at either end.

I would appreciate some information on the SA example, as to :

Likely year of manufacture, rarity of maker and a value estimate as it may go to the e-strand. Any other information about the dagger would also be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance

Is the 'Fr' stamp on the crossguard a Gau' stamp for Frankfurt?

                    cheers

The throat or very top of the scabbard is made of brass or copper.

IMO the Fr is for Gau or District Franken. Please note that i have been corrected on here before by a certain member saying that the term "Gau" or "district" is not correct. Im yet to see anyone else correct me or have a problem with this term for a area or district regarding the crossgaurd abreviations. regards Johnno.

I would have to question an anodized scabbard with plated fittings with an early dagger. It would indicate that they have not always been together.

Thanks guys, so what would be an o.k description for the e-stand, early dagger with possible later scabbard? Could someone please advise possible dates i.e late 30's etc, also a possible value range?

                            Many thanks.

It's a mid 30s dagger with a late 30's RZM scabbard I would think. Also, worth mentioning is that the blade appears to be shortened/re-tipped. Perhaps measure the length to be sure, should be about 220mm long from tip to crossguard.
