    Presentation dagger?

Hi, I was given this dagger by my wifes uncle, it belonged to his father who served (we believe) as a medical officer in the german air force during WW1. I would appreicte any comments or expert opinions about it, all I know is that is heavy and good quality..

    Cheers, rick

Very nice! appears to be an Imperial hunting knife with damascus steel blade, made by WKC (Weyers Kirschbaum &cie Soliingen)

A beautiful looking damast blade & very interesting hilt. The personalization is from a Busch to a Heiner & location of Alsace is just terrific too. This piece doesn't have any connection with the WWI medical corps but I surmise the original owner must have been a hunter or had some affiliation with the Forestry service. Private purchase pieces of this vintage would usually be of exceptional quality & this one looks no different. Just a sweet looking piece, thanks for posting it.
