      Cleaning

Theo and Dav - thanks for your thoughts on cleaning.

I have tried to be very careful when cleaning. I have only cleaned the eagle once which brightened it up a bit without losing the contrast with the darker parts (which I agree would be a shame to lose!). I clean the blade to remove rust only (should it appear). The scabbard I find more difficult to clean as surface rust sometimes reappears a little while after I have cleaned it off...

I would appreciate any thoughts you have on the best way to clean these daggers and also what cleaning products to use.

      Thanks, David

The scabbard is phosphated to a grey color. So Im' afraid any cleaning could harm the surface. Maybe you can put some renwax (museum wax) on it to seal it from the air.

        Regards, Theo
