    SS Knot?Original?

    Hello everybody,

This knot is offered to me,with a matching numbered S84/98.Nothing wrong with the bayonet(no "SS" markings on it),but this knot is attached to it.

Is this an original SS knot, and if so,who wore it?I know nothing about SS knots,so any opinion is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    kind regards,

    Jeremy

That knot is considered original by most, but nobody knows anything about them. No documentation, no period photographs. Is it even SS?

These are often found in unissued mint condition with the original string tie.

They sell for $75 to $125.

                    All the best ..

I agree with Mike that there is no period documentation to support these knots. I doubt they are SS but they might have been worn by the Bahnschutz? But, again no documentation nor period photos have come to light.

Thank you very much Mike and George for the fast reply.

So this portepee couldhave been worn by Banshutz ,or SS NCO's,but there is no real evidence of it?It is assumed that they are original-if one would see at the construction of the knot,it seems authentic-,then it could be a variation of a Bahnshutz or SS knot?I did a quik search and it seems to be the only 2 departements with black and white in their knots?

                        Kind regards,Jeremy

                            Jim,

                            I think that's great! And I hope you're right, but I am skeptical ..

How can you prove this? Have you found TR period documentation?

                            All the best ..

Do you have any photos or documentation to support that?
