    Original Eickhorn Naval Dagger ?

I would welcome opinions on a Naval Dress Dagger that I have seen. It appears pukka to my inexperienced eye except that it has the word ORIGINAL on it. The blade has been deeply etched. All comments welcome.
    Thanks,
    Peter.

Sorry, the last pic was a bit blurred. Here is one from the front.

It is accompanied by a certificate stating that it was given to a British soldier in 1945. I attach a pic.

Looks fine to me, "original" is part of the Eickhorn trade mark.

Yep, it's the real deal, a nice early Eickhorn, "textbook" fittings. Original is the same in German, so no problems here at all...

Thanks Ian and Red. I'm really surprised to find out that original is the same in German. Any idea of how much it's worth ? Does the etched blade make a difference to the price for instance?
                    Thanks,
                    Peter.

Peter, almost all 2nd Model Naval daggers are etched, that's a standard feature for this type. You do get a plain blade version which are in fact rarer than the etched models. Yours appears to be in nice shape, if there are no dents in the scabbard, it's probably worth around $750-$850... it's a tough market at the moment tho.
