Naval dagger grip

Hi new to daggers just need a bit of advise, someone I know has a naval dagger for sale to me looks in very good condition, but the grip is a little loose, not the wire the grip itself, could / can it be tighten or is it best left alone thanks in advance lee

Probably best to leave it alone. A lot of grips are thin celluloid over wood. The wood shrinks over time and the grip gets loose. Tightening the pommel will likely crack the eggshell-like celluloid.
