              Here´s the translation:

              Crossguard:
              "To our comrade Eberhardt"

              Scabbard fitting:
              "Dedicated from the NSKK
              Traffic Squad
              Weimar
              1938"

What I find strange is that the dagger is group stamped "Wm" and the dedication is from the NSKK traffic squad in the city of Weimar. The group Westmark was located in the very western part of Germany, whereas the city Weimar was right in the middle of Germany and belonged to the Gruppe Thüringen (abbreviation "Th"). That doesn´t really fit together and the dagger should be group stamped with "Th". But who knows ...

Thanks Ivbaust for the translation. I have a question you may be able to answer. Is the presentation in "Old German".?I have some other pieces that I carried to the local university German Department. The professors told me that they could not translate some of the words exactly because it was in "Old German" and the language had changed over the years. Again Thanks.

Nothing archaic about this inscription--anyone in Germany (anyone who speaks German, that is!) would be able to read it.

While I agree that the "mis-matched" Group mark is a concern, I do like the engraving and overall look of the piece.

I don't have a clue why the Group mark doesn't fit or why - for a presentation piece - they didn't secure a crossguard devoid of any markings (or just use the other side)

                    Interesting...

Also something else that is unusual is the dedication is in 1938 which if the dagger was purchased at that time it would be a later RZM version and not an early manufacture example in all nickel steel.
