Fighting Knife Puma - Opinion pls ?

    Salut ,

Can you please tell me if you think this knife is a or a ?

I dont know a lot about those and my main concern is the material used for the grips.
It is not bakelite but more a kinda plastic .
I did some homework before opening this post - Previously a member mentioned a legit material similar to PVC ?? Was he wrong ?
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=pvc&page=2

I am also concerned by the finish of the adjusting of the grips

    Many thanks for your help,
    yves

I think that the knife and handles are fine.

The grips on the originals seem a little softer than bakelite, so in that sense i agree that they are more plastic like.

I found a number of slight variations in these Puma made knives and at least 2 different sheath spring clip designs.

I think that there are at least 2 different blade designs, 2 different materials that crossguards were made of, at least 3 different marking combinations used...

Handles are usually a deep redish brown or is it a brownish red?

I think the color of the handles is a result of the lighting.
I think that this is either a mid or early one, I think the later ones just said PUMA on them. Looks to be unsharpened with some greying to the blade, could be cleaned a bit. Nice one!

        Salut,

The grips have definitly a "pinkish" shade to it...
To test bakelite I normally tap it on my teeth and this does not feel like bakelite, kinda softer... dificult to explain.

It is unsharpen but it is quite sharp.

You guys are happy about the grips are adjusted ?
I was just been paranoid ? nothing wrong with it ?

Anyway, many thanks for looking at it ,

        yves

I am not sure about the grips, could you take some photos in natural light?
