    Mini RAD...real or repro?

    Hi guys,

At the moment these are the only pics I have available but was wondering if they are sufficent to give an opinion. The rig is about 8 inches long. I've tried searching this type of item and found just two threads so there is not much for me to go on. I've never had a mini nor do I know anything about them so any info would be appreciated.

    8 photos to follow

    Regards,
    Stu

                  Hi Stu,
Any etching on the blade? How do you feel about the workmanship?

                    Hi Ralph,

Eagle is well detailed, blade is not etched and if it was a repro I'd think the maker would not have gone to the bother of putting the attachment mechanism inside the hilt. Having said that it's not in any way as well made as a full size item. One problem I'm having is the total lack of a frame of reference to judge this within. Were there early and late versions? I know that there is a very wide range in the quality of early and late daggers. Maybe here too?

I received your PM and will check out the link shortly. Will also stop in at GDC and do some searching there later this evening. Will let you know what I find out.

I'm not one to try and convince myself it's real if it's a repro...but would hate to send it away and later find out it had some value to it.

                    Regards,
                    Stu

                      That thing is ugly!
"Oldmarketplace" sells better looking fakes and they are "minty". - It's bad Stu.

                        Hi Wagner,

Thanks very much for the reply. I've been able to find a few others (photographs) now and they certainly have a higher level of manufacturing quality.

                        Regards,
                        Stu
