I can buy this SS dagger. It looks good to me but it looks a bit too good if you know what I mean.
    I would appreciate your opinion.

Looks like nickel silver scabbard fittings with plated fittings on the dagger. The finishes look to be different from each other which raises the possibility that the dagger & scabbard were mated together sometime after manufacture. If this is true, it would lower the piece's value IMO. That said, there seems to be a pretty good crossguard to scabbard fit. Can you find out if the crossguard is plated? Also, is there a maker mark? Is there any crossgraining on the blade?

                Hello voelender,

I have three thoughts with regards to your post. The first is that regardless of authenticity the blade appears to be narrower along the mid section (hourglass shaped) than it does at either of the tip or nearer the hilt. Possibly an optical illusion? Second is that the patina is not matching on the various parts and third is as follows.

An SS dagger is going to cost you a lot of money. I would need to see much better pictures otherwise I run the risk of influencing your decision without having been able to make a proper evaluation. For example the makers mark is, to me at least, almost a mystery. I can make an educated guess at it but as to whether it's stamped, etched or laser engraved I cannot tell. Things like that are important so it's in your best interest to get focused photos of the entire dagger. If the seller will not supply them then go elsewhere.

                Regards,
                Stu

The blade is without question repro, motto and maker mark are incorrect and too crisp, wrong grip style & eagle, together with the previous comments, I wouldn't touch this one...

Eagle and ss insert are also repros.
