i have aquired a demag crank trench knife, in original but used condition , the story behind it , is it was taken off a German para in Crete , my friends father was in the British rearguard there ,is it probable that a German para in 41 would be carrying a ww1 trench knife?

I think that a lot of fighting knives that were produced for WWI were carried into battle in WWII. Also many were produced during WWII. I think that many soldiers carried what ever was available to them.
Congratulations on your new find, I have been trying to obtain one for quite a while.
