Heer Dagger

I just recieved this Heer dagger.The maker stamp is Rudolph Buschel - Mersheid.

I don't know much about daggers but I do have some pictues.What do you think?Does it look alright?

yes, at a first sight it appears genuine and very nice. congrats, more over for a scarce maker.

Are Heer daggers silver plated?I am unsure of the types of metals used.

Nice rare bird there, looks good to me from the pictures.
Yes the fittings and scabbard are silver plated and some have nickel plating mostly seen on early daggers, some makers even plated the blades as well, SMF and klaas are known makers of plated blades. one easy way to tell if the blade you have is plated or stone polished is the plated ones have a smooth finish and the polished blades have lines going horizontal across the blade.
Heres a polished blade and what it looks like in mint condition, blades that have been buffed will still have the lines but not as defined.
